Every Single X-Men Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Deadpool
After X-Men Origins took a great big steaming creative mistake all over Deadpool, it's a wonder that anyone thought of trying again, but God bless Ryan Reynolds and his insistence and persistence. And even more so for his stoic belief that his Deadpool project HAD to be an R-Rated affair.
Whisper it, but Reynolds is legitimately comic book movie poison: He's been in Blade Trinity, Green Lantern, Origins, RIPD... And yet they keep hiring him. And let's all be thankful that they persisted too, because he's the perfect Wade Wilson and the perfect Deadpool, acerbic but charming, offensive but cheeky. It's just the right blend.
Even so, it's incredibly brave to give him the chance to break the fourth wall and to push the envelope as hard as he did and anyone pitching this years ago after watching Origins would have been thrown out of Hollywood.
It's not all perfect, though: the story is only okay and pretty much all of the supporting characters - particularly the villains - are paint-by-numbers, but this was always the Deadpool show and Reynolds delivered it with aplomb.
