Every Spider-Man Movie Ranked Worst To Best

Though The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gets a lot of grief, it makes everything that came out before Sam Raimi's first movie look unwatchable by comparison.

Still, it's a hugely problematic movie that struggles because of Sony's attempts to recapture the sequel success of Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Unfortunately, it struggles for exactly the same reason that Spider-Man 3 "failed": there are too many villains, the plot is bloated and the end missed the mark by some distance.

The biggest issue came with the attempt to set up an expanded universe for Spidey, rather than pulling more intimately on Peter Parker. He ended up feeling somewhat sidelined in his own movie, and while there is something to be said of the adaptation of The Night Gwen Stacy Died, the whole thing seriously lacks finesse.
