Every Spider-Man Movie Villain (Ranked From Worst To Best)
6. The Lizard (The Amazing Spider-Man)
The Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man is something of a mixed bag. Indeed, there are many things to dislike about this villain: the CGI is very ropey at points, hes got a distractingly weird nose, and his evil plan seems to hinge around turning everyone in New York into reptiles (as if that was ever going to happen). The scene where Dr Connors leaves his computer open with his entire scheme visible is hugely infuriating, as well. However, there are few decent moments for Rhys Ifans take on Curt Connors in the movie. As hes the only real villain in the movie, plenty of time is spent setting him up, for instance. Thats a lot more than can be said for the prior entries on this list. He ties into the wider untold mystery about the Parker family, too, which helps make the whole movie rather personal to Peter. (That, particularly, was refreshing after the over-stuffed slugfest of Spider-Man 3.) The high school fight scene is a highlight of the movie, as well, and not just because it contains a brilliant Stan Lee cameo. Simple yet imaginative, this showdown with its manifold uses for Peters powers - showcased what The Amazing Spider-Man franchise was capable of. The Lizard may not be one of the best, then, but hes not the worst either.
