Every Spider-Man Movie Villain (Ranked From Worst To Best)
5. Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)
The Amazing Spider-Man invested in translating the brightly coloured pomp of comic books themselves directly to the screen more so than any other Spidey movie to date. If you accept that as it is, Jamie Foxxs Max Dillon/Electro actually works rather well within the rules The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sets for itself. Clearly, the powers that be wanted a big cartoonish villain to anchor the film, and thats what Foxx delivered. He raised a few chuckles as the parody-esque cheesy put-upon scientist Max Dillon in the first act, and brought a strong enough sense of menace to his fight scenes later on. The Times Square sequence, in particular, was an impressive bust-up. The blue special effects enhancements on Foxxs body looked decent, too. That said, there isnt quite enough character development for Foxxs Electro to move any further up this list. People forgetting his birthday and Spidey forgetting a fleeting encounter that last five seconds really isnt enough of a motivation for someone to become a supervillain. Foxx brings good cheese to the role, but with a few more drafts of the script, he could have become one of the truly great Spider-Man movie villains. As it stands, this next chap fared a bit better...
