Every Star Trek Movie Villain Ranked From Worst To Best

14. Sybok/God

Sybok Sybok

Sybok was the half-brother of Spock, a full-blooded Vulcan who abandoned everything that his sibling saught to achieve. He gave himself over to his emotions, letting them fuel his search for Sha-Ka-Ree, or God themselves. He amassed followers using a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis, allowing him to make the highly suggestible.

His villainous stance is both well deserved and in question. He certainly had no qualms about using force to get what he needed. He raised an army to take control of Paradise City on Nimbus III, using that same army to lure a Starfleet vessel. Once aboard the Enterprise-A, he took control of the ship and crew.

However, though easily able to overpower Kirk, he simply puts the captain in jail. After their arrival at the centre of the Galaxy, he returns control of the ship to him. At this point, the true villain of the piece comes into play.

'God', the being that claims to be who Sybok has searched for, is on the planet below. It is imprisoned, crying for the Enterprise-A to come closer so that it can escape. In a moment, Sybok's dreams are shattered. He bids his brother farewell then turns on the creature, engaging it in battle and losing his life in the process.

Though his final actions were to attempt to save everyone from this monster, he was also responsible for putting them all in that position in the first place. He may not go down as history's worst offender, yet there was a ruthless streak in the man.
