Every Star Trek Movie Villain Ranked From Worst To Best

13. Nero

Star Trek Nero
Paramount

Nero was the villain that JJ Abrams used to kick-start his Kelvin universe films, with Eric Bana playing the Romulan miner and chewing ALL of the scenery. The character is thin, there's no doubting it. Yet, the simplicity of this madman's motivations makes him one of the more dangerous foes that Starfleet has faced.

His initial arrival creates the Kelvin timeline, followed by the destruction of the USS Kelvin and the death of George Kirk. Years pass and he returns, destroying an armada of Klingon warships before setting a course to Vulcan. Every act has been planned with a pure vengeance in mind. He blames Spock, unjustly, for the destruction of Romulus in the future. He punishes the man by destroying Vulcan in the past.

He almost succeeds in destroying Earth as well, stopped in the eleventh hour by the crew of the Enterprise. Completely consumed by his pain and anger, he is unable to accept anything but total victory or death. With his ship being pulled apart by a black hole, created by the red matter he had used to destroy Vulcan, he ignores Kirk's offer of help, closing his eyes and dying a broken man.
