Part of the issue with Captain Phasma is she never follows through on her anger with Finn, despite the narrative demanding they have some kind of showdown. Surely it should have been her who duelled with Finn midway through, but that honour went to an anonymous stormtrooper dubbed FN-2199 instead.
This chap appears to be quite steamed with Finn, directly accusing him of being a traitor before challenging him to a duel with his riot baton. This leads to a cool little fight scene, where FN actually gains the upper hand before Han blasts him.
Fans have come to love 2199 despite his brief appearance, with “Traitor!” quickly becoming a meme following the film’s release.
