Every Steven Soderbergh Movie Ranked Worst To Best

24. Schizopolis (1996)

Oceans Eleven
Northern Arts

Soderbergh has made some overtly strange movies over the years, but all his other oddball creations pale in comparison to his surrealist comedy flick Schizopolis.

The film stars Soderbergh as officer worker Fletcher Munson and his dentist doppelganger Dr. Korchek, as their lives intertwine and time loses all meaning.

Schizopolis has no end credits, a nonlinear narrative that's close to impossible to follow, and too many bizarre characters to count. It makes little sense, basically, and yet its impossible to look away from.

This is Soderbergh uncaged, and though many will find his obscurity and absurdity too over-the-top to enjoy, there's no denying Schizopolis is a dynamite exercise in experimental filmmaking that has to be seen to be believed.
