Every Wizarding World Movie Ranked
7. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
Splitting the final Harry Potter book into two movies was a risky move, and not one that went particularly well when you look at them as a whole. The first part of The Deathly Hallows suffers the most from the decision.
With clunky pacing issues and a clear lack of identity - every scene seems to be in place as set up for the big finale, with few moments existing to give the film its own reason to be - the film follows fugitives Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they search for Voldemort's horcruxes and find their relationships strained by their mission.
There's still much here to enjoy, including the gorgeous imagery of the Tale of the Three Brothers, the performance of a bitter, scene-stealing Rupert Grint, and the way it digs into the emotional toll of the central conflict, though a more careful focus on pace and tone would have helped it massively.
The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is, like many of the Wizarding World's weaker adventures, still a remarkably enjoyable journey packed with emotion, though whether it needed to be the first of a two-parter remains debatable.
