Fantastic Beasts: 10 Potential Harry Potter Spinoffs We'd Rather See
1. The Marauders
The sheer number of fanvids that exist on tumblr telling the story of the young Marauders is enough to let me know that I am not alone in desperately wanting to see their story on the big screen. I don't know why JK is so resistant to developing more content about arguably the most interesting group of characters she's ever created, but it's really starting to negatively impact my day to day life.
Imagine it. An ill-fated circle of friends and lovers who launch a noble rebellion against a growing evil in the wizarding community. I have always said that one of the biggest mistakes of the Harry Potter films was their decision to cast forty-somethings as James and Lily, rather than the kids in their early 20s they actually would have been. It undermines the tragedy of their deaths if you are able to forget how very young they were when they were murdered.
Here, I can do it properly right now. Aaron Taylor-Johnson as James, Ben Barnes as Sirius, Karen Gillian as Lily, Andrew Garfield as Remus. All set, let's go.
I imagine this as a magical spy thriller with liberal dashes of comedy and romance, and yes, cameos from Frank and Alice Longbottom, because I am apparently a horrible masochist.
