Fantastic Beasts 2 Ending And Twist EXPLAINED

7. Grindelwald Has More Followers

In The Crimes Of Grindelwald, we got to see Grindelwald's equivalent of the Nuremberg Rally, set within the Parisian graveyard where he rallied his existing supporters and those curious to his manifesto.

This was no show of power nor a coercion of force - instead, Grindelwald used the tinderbox to whip up emotions until one follower stepped out of line and forced an Auror to kill her, unwittingly giving the dark wizard the propaganda he needed without even raising his wand.

That one act of killing will end up being a fuse to ignite more and more followers to fall under his control. The wizards in attendance will tell the story of how the Aurors killed a witch unprovoked as Grindelwald simply attempted to spread his word. They were innocent, the Ministry were the enemy. It's a genius ploy and one that will bring him far more followers than any act of violence he could have conceived of.

In other words, come Fantastic Beasts 3, he's going to have a far bigger army of zealous supporters.
