2. Newt Scamander

If you're not a fan of Eddie Redmayne (fie on you), then you're probably not going to be a fan of Newt Scamander, but the new lead of JK Rowlings' franchise will be adored by some fans for exactly that reason.

He wonderfully captures the blend of self-effacing charisma and roguishness that Redmayne brought to his performance in The Theory Of Everything, and he's definitely like the walking embodiment of all three of the Golden Trio of leads from the Potter films.

He also has that tangible, bumbling charm of Hollywood's ideal vision of Englishness too (see also High Grant and Colin Firth), which cuts through the more swaggering Americana and gives Rowling and Yates something to hang the old Potter spirit on.

Hopefully the promise of him being involved all the way through the franchise prove to be true.
