Fast & Furious 8: What The Ending Of Fate Of The Furious Really Means

4. Nobody Died

Well, Elena dies, but you can see that coming a mile off, because she's entirely expendable. And the oddly names Connor Rhodes (who is way too European for that name), but he's unfortunately no more than a henchman.

In terms of real stakes, nobody has been killed off for a long time - possibly so that Universal don't have to surrender their 12A rating.

What it means: the team is going to continue swelling. We've still got the core squad, plus the new additions from last time out (Hobbs and Ramsey) and now the Shaw brothers (and possibly their mother) are knocking around too. Plus Scott Eastwood's Little Nobody looks like a long-term fixture.

At some point in the future, there will probably also be some sort of plot that involves bringing Cipher into the team.
