Fifty Shades Darker Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

1. It's 7 Minutes Shorter Than The First

Small mercies are mercies nonetheless, and Darker is a whopping seven minutes shorter than its predecessor, even if it's still grossly overlong and super-fans are basically forced to sit for a few more minutes anyway in order to catch the Fifty Shades Freed trailer crammed in half-way through the credits.

These films really don't need to be more than 90-100 minutes max, but anything that shears even seconds off the first film's brutal 125 minutes is something worth championing. Given how much blatant padding there is in this movie, though, it really could've been much, much shorter (like 80 minutes).
