The book, and indeed the film, pull out all the stops to show you just how incredibly wealthy he is - including a scene of him taking Ana for a quick fly around in his jet for no other reason than to show you he has one. However with Ana as the innocent and virginal love interest, the story is equally at pains to show you that it isn't his immense wealth she's interested in. In fact Ana makes a number of points to show that her interest in Christian has absolutely nothing to do with his money and, instead, is merely about the new and scary feelings she's experiencing from just being in his presence. In fact, so disinterested in his money is she, that she happily accepts the numerous and expensive gifts he showers her with and the new lifestyle he introduces her to.
