First Look At Eddie Redmayne In Transgender Role, The Danish Girl

Is he now trying to add Best Actress to his Best Actor win?

Not one for resting on his laurels with an Oscar in his hand, Eddie Redmayne is daring to go for another award-possible role in the The Danish Girl, which will see him step into shoes of Einar Wegener, one of the first men who went under the knife in the earliest transgender operations. Directed by Tom Hooper and based on David Ebershoff€˜s book of the same name, The Danish Girl tells the story of Einar and his wife, Greta (Alicia Vikander), who painted her husband in drag, ushering in the decision to change his gender and become Lili Elebe. Redmayne told the Daily Mail, that he€™s being very careful with the part, that is the most €˜sensitive role€™ he€™s ever done. Seeing everything from a female perspective, the Theory of Everything lead is figuring out €œhow to sit, to walk, to pose, roll on a pair of stockings. How to put on a pair of heels - and how to walk in them. Everything.€ Simply with the combination of both an Oscar winning director and actor working on a project like this, it€™s safe to say that The Danish Girl is one to keep an eye on. Currently there€™s no release date confirmed but expect her to be making an appearance some time in 2016.
