Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer Review - 7 Ups & 4 Downs

1. Trading On Rudd & Wolfhard's Charm

There are two people more than any other all over this trailers - Finn Wolfhard and Paul Rudd. McKenna Grace gets some screentime too, but the story feels mostly like it's being relayed by Wolfhard, who lays out most of what we need to know about their backstory (why they're there) and Rudd (what their discoveries mean).

And it's a smart move. There's probably nobody working in Hollywood right now who has pulled in so much goodwill as Rudd - and that's saying a lot when Tom Hanks is still active - and Wolfhard is one of the most gifted young actors on the rise. Both of them are eminently watchable and seeing the film through their eyes is very smart.

If you don't want to watch a film in which those two team up to explore the truth of ghosts - quite apart from it being a Ghostbusters movie - there's probably something wrong with you.

And now on to the negatives...
