Ghostbusters Reboot: 29 Easter Eggs, References & In-Jokes

Easily the best line of the entire film comes courtesy of Andy Garcia's idiot mayor, whose chief agenda is denying that any ghosts exist at all and maintaining that the Ghostbusters are in fact frauds publicly (while privately backing their attempts to help restore the natural order).

When he is attacked by the Ghostbusters for burying his head and being a denier, he is accused of being "worse than the Jaws mayor", which cuts him deep.

That of course is a reference to the Murray Hamilton's Mayor Larry Vaughn from the first Jaws movie, who spends the majority of the movie denying the fact that Amity Island has a shark problem despite the over-whelming evidence. It's a nice little gag.
