BOX OFFICE: Glory for Will Ferrell again as he skates to first place!

Whenever Will Ferrell makes himself look stupid on screen and indeed appears in a sporting comedy movie, history tells us he is a huge draw.

flicks_review1-1_47.jpgWhenever Will Ferrell makes himself look stupid on screen and indeed appears in a sporting comedy movie, history tells us he is a huge draw. Blades of Glory this weekend took in an estimated $33 million finishing in top place but it's quite a way short of the $47 million Talladega Nights made towards the end of last summer. Blades of Glory was made on a budget of $60 million, so it should easy make a return when all is said and done, but clearly won't be as big a hit as Talladega. Skating is nowhere near as cool as Nascar racing! Disney's Meet the Robinsons came in at second with a gross of $25.1 million, which is obviously nowhere near Pixar numbers. Elsewhere, TMNT suffered a big drop to fourth and only took in 9.1 million. If the pic suffers another 62% drop next weekend, that franchise may be dead once again. 300 dropped one place to third...... the movie has now made a massive domestic number of $180 million!
