6. Thanos Is The Main Villain In The Franchise
Marvel StudiosThanos, who is to be voiced and motion-captured by Josh Brolin, is the main villain for this entire chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will truly make his presence felt as a physical threat in the third Avengers movie. However, having made a very brief appearance in the mid-credits scene of the first Avengers movie, Guardians of the Galaxy will be the first time we get to see him in all his glory and hear him speak. If the movie ends up failing, Thanos will be associated with it in a negative way and a third Avengers movie with the lead villain coming fresh off an appearance in a failed movie would suck. Hopefully, in addition to this movie succeeding on a general level, Thanos will be portrayed in a way that conveys him as a threat to the entire Avengers team - enough to easily defeat the likes of Thor and Hulk in straight-up combat, for example - and we're sure Marvel will be aware of that.
