4. Who Is Nathan Fillion Playing?
20th TelevisionDirector James Gunn has confirmed that his good friend Nathan Fillion (of Firefly/Serenity, Castle and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame) will have a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy. Although he's understandably refusing to divulge who Fillion is playing, he has
categorically stated that he won't be playing Nova (he's probably playing Nova). Fillion has been the subject of fan campaigns to have him feature in a comic book movie for years - ever since the first Green Lantern movie was released, when many people saw him as the ideal man to portray Hal Jordan - and it seems the fans will finally get their wish. The role is going to be small, but hopefully it could lead to him having more of a starring role in future movies. Current rumours (Nova aside) have Fillion potentially voicing Cosmo - the telepathic and telekenetic Soviet space dog who is Knowhere's chief of security - which would mean he could still appear in his human form in future movies without having truly appeared twice. Regardless, it will be great to see/hear the man in Guardians of the Galaxy.
