10. Adam Warlock

In the mid-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World, we first saw the Collector and his museum of weird and wonderful species and trinkets when the Asgardians Volstagg and Sif visited him to give him the Aether and entrust it in his care - and it was in that scene that we also saw a bizarre giant pod inside one of the glass display cases. It appeared again in Guardians of the Galaxy and director James Gunn has since 100% confirmed that it is the cocoon of Adam Warlock. This is exciting news, as Adam Warlock is a vital character in the Infinity Gauntlet comic book arc that is said to be what the Avengers 3 is going to be loosely based on, as Thanos gets his hands on all six Infinity Stones and wields the ultimate universal power. Warlock will likely be joining forces with both the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy in that movie in order to stop the Mad Titan. Warlock was created to be the perfect human, but he eventually ventured off in to space and became a powerful cosmic being. He's definitely one to watch out for in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
