11. The Chitauri

As well as their leader - the enigmatic "The Other" - the keen-eyed amongst you will also have noticed an actual Chitauri soldier in the movie. Where? You guessed it - amongst the Collector's collection in his museum on Knowhere. In addition to seeing a lone Dark Elf - which was specified in the aforementioned article we've already published about Easter eggs and references in Guardians of the Galaxy - there was also a single imprisoned Chitauri feeling sorry for itself inside a display case. Evidently, Tony Stark's diversion of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s nuclear missile in to their mothership - which caused all of the Chitauri soldiers on Earth to drop dead on the spot - didn't kill every single member of the Chitauri species in the universe.
