Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: 9 Big Implications Of Star-Lord's Father Reveal

8. The Inhumans Origin Story

It was always something of a mystery how Marvel were going to tie the introduction of The Inhumans to the end of Infinity War, and with the potential missing piece of the jigsaw now in place, it all makes a lot more sense. Mar-Vell's presence on Earth suggests that he could have been sent there for the same reason he was in the comics: to assess humanity and help genetically experiment on them to create The Inhumans in the hope of engineering their own mutant army. Only, like, don't say "mutant" in case Fox hear. No matter what cynics might say, The Inhumans movie is still happening. The apparent frictions between Kevin Feige and the Marvel TV head honchos might well be on the money, but the Marvel head planner has always prided himself on his unfaltering long-term plan. To suddenly drop any film from that slate would be an unprecedented backward step. And having the Guardians and The Inhumans brought together would make sense: not least because of the contradiction in Star-Lord's team's unorthodox approach to everything, and the Inhumans' rigid adherence to order.
