5. Epic Space Action
In its brief forays in to space, the
Avengers movie proved that Marvel can get space right in terms of how it looks. Particularly in IMAX and 3D, the space scenes (such as those with The Other, the Chitauri Mothership and the mid-credits scene with Thanos) looked fantastic, but the movie didn't spend an awful lot of time there. When
Guardians of the Galaxy is released, the viewing audience will not be satisfied without walking away having seen large-scale space battles and inter-planetary action in the mould of
Star Wars. There really is no point in taking the Marvel cinematic universe in to deep space if the action scenes aren't going to be stepped up a few notches. The action scenes in the likes of the
Avengers and
Iron Man 3 will be hard to top, but the potential to do exactly that is definitely there with a movie involving villains intent on taking over/destroying the universe.
