Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2: 10 Funniest Moments
6. The 700 Jumps (And The Stan Lee Cameo)
No matter what Marvel film it is, be it good or bad, MCU or not, the Stan Lee cameo is almost always good for a laugh. However, the one in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 took things to an entire another level. Plus, the sequence in which the cameo takes place is pretty funny in its own right.
While setting a course for Ego's planet, Rocket is informed by Yondu that it's difficult to handle jumping through more than fifty jump gates at once. So naturally, it's revealed after the wheels are already in motion, so to speak, that they have to make fourteen-times that many jumps.
As they flash through the galaxy like some sort of cosmic pinball, their facial and anatomic features start to become murderously distorted as panic takes hold of them. As if that wasn't enough, the cherry on top comes when a certain MCU fan-theory was actually confirmed on-screen.
When part of their journey briefly takes them past a group of Watchers, we see them conversing with their informant, Stan Lee, who is telling them all about the various other cameos he's made.
Some have pointed out how he specifically mentions his cameo in Civil War, which takes place after Guardians Vol. 2. However, since the Watchers canonically have the ability to time-travel, this actually makes perfect sense. This scene is not only funny, but also adds a whole new layer of depth to the universe.
