6. The Death Button

As the trailers ruined so needlessly to sell how cute the new Baby Groot is, Rocket builds a giant bomb for the film's climactic battle with Ego, which he has to entrust to Groot as he's the only one small enough to get right up to Ego's brain.

The hilarious conceit of that sequence is that Groot can't follow the instructions to trigger said bomb and he keeps wanting to immediately press the button that will immediately explode the bomb.

But why does this button even exist, exactly? What purpose does it serve when the plan is clearly not to immediately trigger it? And isn't having it the exact same colour and size of the button to start the count-down (which is also RIGHT next to it) a bit... unsafe?
