21. So, Drax Is Immortal Now?

Though he's clearly billed as a monster in the first film, Drax is very much not an impenetrable hero. He's vulnerable, he can be beaten fairly easily in battle (despite how scared his enemies are of him) and he's generally not that much more impressive than Star-Lord.

In the sequel though, there's obviously been a conscious decision to make his stronger biological make-up show, particularly when he's dragged behind the crashing Milano and is smashed repeatedly off trees at great speed. He should be dead - by the precedent set in the first film, he would be dead - but here he shrugs it off.

It fits the character from the comics, but the difference between the two films is very noticeable.
