It seems strange that he's wearing a Ravager uniform this early in the film - as it was assumed he did so when he was captured - but maybe the time-line is messed up and the Ayesha sequence doesn't happen first? Or maybe he's wearing it in tribute to Star-Lord after all. Either way, bestill my aching heart, he's a cute little bugger.
