6. Elizabeth Debicki Plays Ayesha
Long rumoured and now confirmed, Elizabeth Debicki is playing Ayesha, the golden High Priestess of a genetically-perfect people called the Sovereign. She requests help from the Guardians, famous after destroying Ronan The Accuser. The Sovereign apparently aren't a race to be trifled with. With a Guardian warning:
"Careful, these people are easily offended and the consequence of transgression is death."
This doesn't stop Quill from winking at her, nor Rocket for blatantly offending those present in the enormous golden hall seen in the footage.
The reason Ayesha is an important character is simple - In the comics she is genetically engineered to be the female counterpart to Adam Warlock. Adam Warlock has been of intrinsic importance to the Guardians and in particular the cosmic side of Marvel comics over the years.
He is a major player in the war against Thanos and with Infinity War looming, this may be the chance for Marvel to introduce the character to the MCU.
