3. No-One Knows Who The Baddies Are
Is Woody Harrelson's mentor/criminal the villain of the piece, or is he just a fun side character like Yondu in Guardians Of The Galaxy? Will the big bad be Jabba the Hutt, or will that be saved for a sequel that treads closer to A New Hope? Or could the baddies be the Empire, with Han sneakily undermining their reign of terror? Or could the writers pit Han against a random bloke who's terrorising one small community, kind of like The Magnificent Seven?
At the moment, all bets are off concerning the villain of the piece. It could even be Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian. Surely, before he befriended Han, there was some serious rivalry between those swaggering space bandits. Or it could be the unknown character played by Emilia Clarke; she can definitely do intense anger better than most.
The film's baddie could be alien, human or droid for all anyone knows at the moment. The challenge for the filmmakers will be making this mystery villain feel like a real challenge for heroes of Han and Chewie's calibre.
