Happy Death Day Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
1. 50 Cent's "In Da Club" Isn't In The Final Movie
One of the most prominent aspects of the film's marketing was the use of 50 Cent's iconic hit tune, "In Da Club", which was used as Tree's phone ringtone and played as a recurring element every time she woke up after being killed.
In the final film, however, it's nowhere to be heard and is replaced by a more generic song, presumably because Universal couldn't gain clearances for it (perhaps after Fiddy's record label realised how popular the trailer had become).
Considering how iconic In Da Club is, and how perfectly it cements that this is a millennial horror movie, it's a damn shame it didn't make it to the end product. A nitpick, perhaps, but disappointing all the same.
And now, here's everything Happy Death Day got right...
