Harry Potter: 10 Things That Happened After The Movies
3. Professor Snape And Dumbledore Returned... Kind Of
Fan-favourite wizards Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape sadly didn't live to see the end of the saga, but return for metaphysical cameos in The Cursed Child.
Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy's time-bending antics sets up Professor Snape's cameo, with the secretly heroic Hogwarts teacher featuring in an alternate reality sequence set against a dystopian backdrop.
Snape is part of a dwindling anti-Voldemort resistance movement which opposes the Dark Lord in the aftermath of his victory in the Battle of Hogwarts. Just as he does in the movies and the novels, Severus sacrifices himself for the greater good, laying down his life so Scorpius can reverse the timeline changes.
Dumbledore only appears in the play in living portrait form, like many other deceased wizards of old did in the movies. His moving image offers some sound advance to Harry when his relationship with Albus hits troubled waters.
