Harry Potter: 7 Times Harry Was A Complete Idiot

The Taboo Curse is an interesting idea that sadly didn’t make it into the movie adaptations of The Deathly Hallows. In essence, the curse can be used to track down someone after they say a particular word. And following the Death Eaters’ takeover of the Ministry, the Taboo Curse is used to make anyone who says the word ‘Voldemort’ instantly trackable.

But despite being fully aware of the Taboo, Harry blurts out the word ‘Voldemort’ whilst in conversation with Ron and Hermione. A group of Snatchers and Death Eaters then Apparate to their location and take them to Malfoy Manor.

Sure, they manage to escape with the help of Dobby and Aberforth, but Harry’s moronic blunder could have been fatal. If Voldemort had arrived at the Malfoys’ home several minutes earlier, he would have killed Harry, Ron, and Hermione immediately. And given no one else knew about his Horcruxes, Voldemort would have become an unstoppable force.
