Harry Potter: Fan-Casting The Inevitable Cursed Child Movie

2. Alex Kingston As Hermione Granger

Why She's Right For The Role

Since wading into the public eye as River Song in Doctor Who, Alex Kingston has popped up in numerous TV shows, from Arrow to Gilmore Girls and Marchlands, proving herself as both a strong leading lady and supporting player.

Hermione is both the latter and the former; she's Minister for Magic, the chief of the wizarding community, but also uses her position to help Harry where she can.

Kingston's role as a strict editor in Shoot the Messenger showed she can play the take-no-prisoners leader, and as River Song, she emanated a confidence and humanity that's a perfect match for the clever, yet respectful Mrs Weasley.

Oh, and if there's one visual trait we associate with Hermione, it's frizzy hair - and Kingston's got that covered.

Chances Of It Happening

Like Abbington, she's primarily a TV actor with pretty much no film roles in the last ten years, so there's a chance she doesn't even like doing movies, and it's unclear whether she'd be willing to star in such a high-profile project.

Still, for a TV actor, mainstream exposure is never a bad thing, and she doesn't have much on her plate at the minute.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
