Harry Potter: Ranking Every Major Magical Family From Worst To Best
9. The Peverells
Antioch, Cadmus, and Ignotus Peverell are best known as the original owners of the three Deathly Hallows – the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility.
The story of how they came to possess these magical items doesn’t turn up until midway through The Deathly Hallows. With the help of the Tales of Beedle the Bard, Hermione recounts the Tale of the Three Brothers, which details how the three men were given the Hallows by Death after they had cheated him. Given the fairy-tale tone of the story, it’s hard to know how much truth there is to it, but it’s an intriguing tale nonetheless.
The Peverells also have a link to the Potters due to the fact Ignotus’s Invisibility Cloak is the very same cloak Harry uses in the main series.
As cool as this detail may be, however, the story of the Peverell brothers is shrouded in too much myth and legend for them to be considered one of the better families in the series.
