Harry Potter: Ranking Every Movie Ending From Worst To Best

1. The Prisoner Of Azkaban

Thanks to some stellar direction from Alfonso Cuarón, The Prisoner of Azkaban is frequently cited as the best movie in the Harry Potter franchise. As with the rest of the movie, the finale was executed to perfection.

Sure, the Time-Turner opens up a lot of plot holes, but there’s no denying such an item allows for an interesting and intense finale.

As well as racing against the clock, Harry and Hermione are also required to complete their task without being seen. As a result, Buckbeak’s rescue carries plenty of intensity owing to the fact both Harry and Hermione come within seconds of being caught.

The moment Harry casts the Patronus Charm is also a highlight. Radcliffe’s performance in tandem with the soundtrack sends chills down the spine, and it’s great to see just how powerful Harry is despite only being thirteen-years-old.

Even when the dementors are defeated this finale continues to excel. The conversation Harry has with his godfather after setting him free is a beautiful way to close out the finale. Indeed, it’s hard not to well up at Gary Oldman’s delivery.

As such, the finale of The Prisoner of Azkaban is the perfect way to end the best movie in the franchise.
