9. Sirius Black - Recklessly Seeking Vengeance
Sirius Black did his waiting. Twelve years of it. In Azkaban. Framed for murder by Peter Pettigrew, Black spent the bulk majority of Harry's life locked away in the notorious wizard's prison before escaping.
Using his latent powers as an Animagus, Black stalked the grounds of Hogwarts, a black dog that was a sign of ill omen for the titular boy wizard. These events came to a head when Black unmasked Peter Pettigrew as an Animagus himself, one that had spent his time hiding under the guise of Scabbers the pet rat of Ron Weasley.
It is here that Sirius makes his intentions known. Pettigrew's betrayal had cost Black years of his life, and, more than likely a substantial part of his own sanity. In retaliation, Black had every intention to kill his former friend. In fact, he very well would have, with Remus Lupin enabling him, if not for the intervention of Harry himself.
