Harry Potter: The Worst Thing Every Order Of The Phoenix Member Did

Kingsley Shacklebolt earns a hearty reputation as one of the most powerful wizards within the Order of the Phoenix, holding a position within the Ministry of Magic as an Auror, a term used for wizards who polices dark wizards.

Shacklebolt is an incredibly admirable character throughout the story. Acting on the Order's behalf while ingratiated within the Ministry of Magic, he's able to subvert the apprehension of Dumbledore, provides updates from within the ministry to Lee Jordan's pirate radio, and generally protects wizards and muggles alike from Voldemort's malevolence whenever he can.

Unfortunately, his worst action is an implied one. Shacklebolt makes the difference whenever and however he can. He's a good man, but in order to maintain his position, a reader must infer that there are many heinous activities going on right in front of him that, sadly, requires him to turn a blind eye. Shacklebolt must bear the weight of the greater good on his shoulders, and the Order is better for it.
