Horror Icon Tom Savini Joins Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED
Robert Rodriguez regular to play Elvis Brittle in Tarantino's new black slavery spaghetti western that begins filming soon.
Horror maestro Tom Savini has some incredible accolades on his CV such as being responsible for the awesome affects on the Friday the 13th movies and George A. Romero's zombie films but very soon he can add 'starring in a Quentin Tarantino movie' to his resume. Sure, he has starred in the Tarantino penned From Dusk Till Dawn where he played 'Sex Machine' and has worked with Robert Rodriguez a number of other times on Machete and Planet Terror but this will be his first time working with Tarantino behind the camera. Coventry Telegraph report that Savini will play Elvis Brittle in Django Unchained, Tarantino's black slavery spaghetti western epic that shoots soon. Savini will appear alongside M.C. Gainey as two of the three redneck outlaws the Brittle brothers who originally sell off Django and his wife Broomhilda as slaves. Tarantino still needs to cast the other brother and actually most glaringly still needs to cast Broomhilda but despite it being a significant part in a Tarantino spectacular (which usually would be a huge selling point) the fact it requires excessive nudity (and I'm not kidding) and is such a controversial movie, he's having a great deal of trouble finding someone. As I'm sure you know by now Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio have the three of the four main roles (Broomhilda is the other) and Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell have the two key supporting parts with lots of cameo's in place for forgotten 80's t.v. legends. You can read all our casting updates HERE. Django Unchained is deep into pre-production and will be released on Christmas Day 2012 by The Weinsteins and by Sony Pictures overseas.
