20 Horror Franchises That NEED To Come Back

18. Candyman

The original Candyman is a stone cold cult classic, and while the two subsequent sequels didn't make much of a dent, 2021's legacy sequel was enough of a critical and commercial success that it seemed to suggest the franchise was back for a time.

The end of the film certainly teed up a whole ton of possibilities for future installments, but in the near-five years since it came out we've heard basically nothing about another Candyman.

This is perhaps complicated slightly by the passing of original Candyman star Tony Todd in 2024 - who made a brief cameo in the 2021 film - yet considering the legacy sequel was largely concerned with exploring other Candyman entities, a new film could perhaps find a way to incorporate Todd's passing in a poignant way.

With all the barely successful horror films that get countless sequels, another Candyman just seems like a no-brainer.
