How Avengers: Endgame Completely Changes The MCU
7. The Asgardians Of The Galaxy Is Now Official
Although few people expected them to be such a good match, Thor teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Infinity War proved to be an incredibly natural - and incredibly hilarious - pairing.
Of course, the God of Thunder wasn't able to spend all that much time with his new buddies in Endgame, on account of most of them being dead, but the film does end with the team reuniting. Thor gives up his mantle as the King of Asgard, finally freeing himself from the burden of acting like the person everyone has always wanted him to be and instead living for himself, and boards the ship with the newly-revived Guardians as the latest member of their team.
He's just in time as well, as now that Gamora (at least the main timeline version) is definitively not coming back, they're in need of a new member. What this means for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is up for debate, but if it takes place post-Endgame (which it presumably will), then it will absolutely focus on these new Asgardians of the Galaxy.
What's perhaps even more interesting is how this will impact a potential Thor 4, which isn't yet official but has been rumoured for a while, especially after the success of Ragnarok. While a lot of the OG Avengers finished their arcs in Endgame, Thor's story is only really getting started, and he could be appearing in a whole host of different sub-franchises across the next couple of years.
