5. Clint Barton (As Ronin)

Hawkeye might get a bad rap from mainstream audiences, but to say he doesn't deserve to be on the team is just silly.

Bungled in both Avengers films, Jeremy Renner's rendition of Clint Barton has never been given the appropriate space to flourish, and while flashes of brilliance were shown in Age of Ultron and Civil War, the character lacks the screen time of his Avengers cohorts.

With Infinity War on the way however, and with a change in hairstyle - and outfit - in mind, it looks as though Clint is set to end his retirement for good. Not as Hawkeye though, but as another hero instead.

Set photos for Avengers 4 showed Renner dressed in an outfit that looked strikingly similar to the one worn by Ronin when Barton returned to the Avengers in the late '00s, and while he's still got his trademark bow, it looks as though the only thing that will be retiring, is the Hawkeye name itself.
