How The MCU's X-Men COULD Look
6. Jean Grey
Here we have one of the most comics-accurate designs of the bunch.
Werneck maintains the classic green and gold color scheme, while throwing in a healthy amount of black to break it up and balance it out. He keeps the sash from the comics, and while it served a very practical artistic purpose in the comics - that is, to visualize flight and momentum - it would serve no point in live action other than to look cool (which is perfectly fine).
He adds some shoulder padding, making the suit look a bit more tactical and dignified. The large golden X on the chest replaces her traditional phoenix symbol. He also drastically reduces the size of her "boots." In the comics, the boots come up to her mid-thighs. Here, they stop just below the knee, serving a more practical purpose than the thigh-high leggings that she wore in the comics.
Of all this is great, because the original Jean Grey looked nothing like her comics counterpart. Seriously, go back and look at Jean Grey's black leather outfit in the original trilogy. She looks more like Black Widow than Jean Grey. Sophie Turner's costume wasn't much better, alternating between clunky black padding, a black leather onesie with a big yellow X on it, and regular street clothes. Given how little care they gave to Jean's look in all of the previous X-Men films, it'd be a treat to get something that looks even remotely like the Jean Grey we know and love.
