How The MCU's X-Men COULD Look
2. Wolverine
Yes, Logan was incredible. A masterpiece, you could even say. Yes, Hugh Jackman is the definitive Wolverine for an entire generation of film-goers. These things are indisputable.
What's not indisputable, however, is how much a travesty it was that in 17 years - and eight films - we never got to see Wolverine's classic yellow costume. While Marvel may have their work cut out for them when it comes to selling audiences on a new Logan, they do have one thing working in their favor: they will undoubtedly show Wolverine in his comic-accurate costume. Marvel haven't shied away putting its characters in faithful costumes, no matter how goofy, over-the-top, or otherwise unbelievable they might be. Sure, they may scale down some of the more awkward or clunky elements (Ant-Man's antennae, Thor's winged helmet, Hawkeye's mask, etc.), but they've generally been pretty faithful. In that way, Marvel can give us a Wolverine we've never seen before, and Werneck's design isn't a bad place to start.
While it's not as aggressively yellow as the classic comics costume, it at the very least contains some traces of yellow, which is more than any of the previous films gave us. It keeps the yellow stripes on the shoulders and ribs, just like the comic version. The hair is properly windswept and unkempt, but not as obviously styled as Hugh Jackman's hair in the earlier films. It's just a shame Werneck didn't give us a rendition of Wolverine's mask, because if his other work is anything to go by, it would have been glorious.
Side-note: doesn't that concept art look like a mashup of Tom Hardy and Jason Momoa?
