Hustlers Review: 8 Ups & 3 Downs
7. The Supporting Cast Are Brilliant
Obviously, the top liners here are phenomenally good, but much like Magic Mike - which this film shares more with than something like, say, Showgirls - there's huge talent right through the cast and it's some of the supporting characters who add the most fun.
Both Cardi B and Lizzo are great as strippers - hell, Cardi B is absolutely brilliant - Home Alone's Devin Ratray plays a somewhat pathetic sugar daddy wonderfully (without making him too much of a victim), and Lili Reinhart and Keke Palmer are both great foils as the other two members of the main crew.
Even beyond them, there's a host of characters who stop by very briefly but are great, like Mario Polit (who could be Vin Diesel's big brother) as a bumbling detective, Madeline Brewer as a drug-addled bad apple and Frank Whaley as the perfect epitome of awful Wall Street villains.
