2. Tony Scott
Known for crafty and stylish action flicks that somehow managed to capture as many critics as it did audiences with the likes of True Romance, Top Gun, Unstoppable, Man on Fire, and the television show Numb3rs, Tony Scott was one of the founders of the smart and forever watchable action thrillers of the modern age. The younger brother of director Ridley Scott, Scotts films were slick, entertaining, and immensely enjoyable, and when he perished by jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge, Tony left behind a wonderful mark of entertainment and happiness on the actors he worked with and the audiences he entertained, and I pray that someone told him that sometime in his life. Tony Scotts final work can be seen in the upcoming Nicole Kidman film Stoker, which he produced, that recently played the Sundance circuit.
