Indiana Jones 5: 10 Actors Who Could Replace Shia LeBeouf
10. Recast Mutt With Ryan Gosling
Considering that much of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was concerned with the relationship between Mutt Williams and his father Indiana Jones, not to mention the titular hero finally married Mutt's mother, Marion Ravenwood, it would be a shame to throw away that story line entirely. While Shia LeBeouf may not have been everyone's cup of tea, fans may be more open to the character returning if he were recast. How about Ryan Gosling? He's proven that he can be charming, funny and witty, and has the acting chops to bring depth (The Ides of March, Drive) to the role. Not to mention he's generally a hit with the ladies, attracting a bigger audience as the franchise continues to develop under Disney's mantle. Gosling could take the quips of LeBeouf's version and add some maturity to the role while still bouncing of Harrison Ford's older, grizzled Indy. It would add the fun that wasn't always there in the last film.
