1. It's Not A Serious Movie
Lastly (but in our mind most importantly), the filmmakers have insisted that despite its "darker" attributes and some existential angst on Iron Man's part, Iron Man 3 "is not a serious movie." Which is great news, considering that we all go to see superhero flicks to have a good time and escape for a while. Push something like this too far into the shadows and the results are often bombastic and bordering the pretentious, kind of like what happened with

Iron Man 3 is embracing its traditions by just looking to entertain the heck out of us - personally, we can't wait!
