Iron Man 3 Post Credits Scene Introduces Ant-Man?

Edgar Wright to direct a brief post-credits scene setting up his Marvel movie?

With phase one complete, attention is now focused on what lies in store for phase two of Marvel's cinematic universe. With the inevitable sequels already filming or well into pre-production, questions and rumours are abound about what exactly lies in store for Marvel and who will be next to make an appearance? Well now we have another rumor to add to the flames for you to stew over concerning Shane Black's currently filming Iron Man 3, with a possible hint that Ant-Man himself will be making some sort of appearance in post-credits sting. According to the most recent podcast from The Playlist, it seems that the post credits scene in Iron Man 3 will effectively serve as the introduction to Hank Pym aka Ant-Man. What's more, the scene is reportedly to be directed by Edgar Wright, just as Joss Whedon directed Thor's post credits scene directly setting up The Avengers. This would of course make sense as Edgar Wright has been attached to an adaptation of Ant-Man for the last few years now and this could well back up Wright's earlier statements, saying that he was hoping to shoot some of Ant-Man this year, despite being committed to the third part in the Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy World's End that is his next film. Marvel have gone on record saying that Iron Man 3 is going to be a completely standalone story with S.H.I.E.L.D only playing a minor role this time around with Cobie Smolders' Maria Hill playing a similar role to what Agent Coulson did in the first Iron Man film, but of course, I don't think that's going to stop them teasing us with little tidbits and Easter eggs that they've been known for. News also comes today in relation to William Sadler's role in the movie. It was first reported that Sadler would be playing Dr. Sal Kennedy, a longtime friend of Tony Stark, in the threequel. Now The Playlist via their podcast, report that Sadler will actually play a general and superior to Don Cheadle's Col. James Rhodes. As with all news such as this, it would be wise to take it with a massive grain of salt, but if all this turns out to even half true, well... let phase two commence I say.
